Run DMC!

Man, these are like my favorite old school artistes, I'm telling you: when people talk about proper Hip Hop, they've got to mention Run DMC, the Hollis crew comprising of Run, DMC (the MCs) and Jam Master Jay (R.I.P) (the DJ). 

This is a clip taken from some TV show (i think it's called Graffiti Rock), circa '86. Funny how things change- that was like the 106 & Park of those days. True, it looks mad rehearsed and niggas are dancing abit too over-zealously for it to be natural, but if you stand away from that, it's way cool. I like the host's glasses- FRESH!

So yeah, what's happening is Run DMC (i think about the time they'd just been birthed) do like their first major track live, after which they go head to head with "Seniors": Kool Moe D and Special K from The Treacherous Three. 

This is like Juliana going against Joanita Kawolya of Afrigo band, or Chris Brown vs. Lionel Richie.
