Cudiiii!

Yeah- I think he's on a roll now- doing the best you possibly can before an album surfaces- touring and jazzing... mooooob! (ontop of featuring in like 3 magazines currently on stands) The tour's looks sick: The Great Hangover headlined by himself and "some guy" called Asher Roth... sick - the lights and the SCREEN IN THE BACK! Well yeah- the album art is now out, donno whodunit but it's very noirrrrce- didn't expect that. I think Im gonna catch myself copping that for Christmas (plus BP3& Thank Me Later [Drake]).
Here's a video from the tour:

PEACE.

Cudi covers Complex

Complex's 5th Annual Style & Design was coveed by the one and only Lonely-Stoner-Mr.-Solo-Dolo. Art work by Augor (Teleport to his website here). The pic's a link to the cove story via the Complex website.

Keri Hilson covers Complex

YUP!
Pretty hot shoot- go peep the cover story and a couple of other pics. Artwork by So-Me of The Cool Cats (The guy that did Kanye's video for The Good Life). Teleport Here.

I'm Good

Been waiting to post this. Video came out like a month ago on myspace music, but "is unavailable in your country due to copyright restrictions..." or something to that effect. I won't say tooo much. Feel good tune, pretty solid, they'r sounding more Southern now- donno bout the album: two good singles out so far (this and "Kinda Like A Big Deal featuring Kanye"), but there's this next one featuring Keri Hilson... pretty weak. Speaking of Keri Hilson... watch this space.

D.O.T

"Na na na na- hey hey hey- goodbyyyyyyyyyye..... good riddance"
-Jay-Z- D.O.A (Death Of Autotune); Yours Truly- D.O.T (Death Of Twitter)

Ladies and Gentlemen, I think she's gone....
Yeah, Twitter and Facebook came under attack from some technical vigilantes, causing both sites to close down and barring users from accessing the shit. Facebook's been a bit of a drag lately, the hype is kinda dead- the friends you could actuall jazz are not usually online when you are (?...) and yh, there isn't much to it anymore- I'm on it, so if it's gone forever I'll mos def miss it (ish...). That's unlikely, though, 'cause the Facebook chaps are armed to the teeth with technical artillery- economies of scale won't let that happen.

TWITTER on the other hand has made a nigger gleeful today- it might also be back in a minute, but still- I've never been an avid fan of that shit- it just strikes me as the Hannah Montana version of Facebook- with just status updates and a couple of other things- but yeah- the fact that everybody was at it kinda awoke the inner communist guerrilla in me and moved me to make one of the most controversial decisions of my adolescent life.... I f*@#ed TWITTER. Forgive my French.

PEACE

Make Her Say

My favorite song last week- Make Her Say (poke her face). Cudi with a new one featuring Kanye and Common and Lady Gaga (the po-po-po-po-po-po-po-po-poke her face part), scratched by A-Trak (Fool's Gold bossman), I heard this song back when Poker Face (the Lady Gaga one from which this samples it's chorus) still had steam- it made me like the original. The downlod link doesn't work so just Google the sh* and admire the Fool's Gold cover art above(btw, Fool's Gold records- they've got the most diseased graphics people- check it: FOOL'S GOLD RECORDS) below is the video in HQ- should be slower to load, but better to watch. Yeah. Peace.

Whatever You Want- my song of the week

Nice tune right there- Consequence featuring Kanye West & John Legend. This one's my song this week- absolute dopeness- G.O.O.D music (all pun intended). I think it would sound great in the club, really up beat- can't wait to spot a video, you know I'll have it here quick fast. I like the album art as well. The above pic is (not) a download link. I like the single art.

Good Hair.

What is good hair?

If you're black, you might need a minute to think about this... what is Good Hair? The following is a trailer for Chris Rock (not Tucker)'s new documentary about Good Hair for black women. It's pretty self explanatory- and pretty funny, so I won't jazz too much. What I will say, though, is that Brother Malcolm (X, R.I.P) used to relax his hair before he converted to Islam and became proud of his black ass. Yeah.... Random..... but relevant. Hallelujah. Alright.

PEACE.

Good Hair.

Eminem & The Punisher.

I swear.

Btw- some guy called himself Eminem and released a track dissing Soulja Boy onto the internet.
I digress.

Eminem and The Punisher- for real, I think Marvel released this last month. I was skimming through some free digital comics when I spotted this- crazy shit. It isn't the tightest story or whatever, but I guess the fact that it's Eminem ought to keep you distracted for the 10 or so minutes it takes you to do that dance. Peep it here: http://marvel.com/digitalcomics/titles/EMINEM~slash~PUNISHER.2009.1

I don't know why I didn't see it coming, though- what with his love for comic books and deeply disturbing lyrics (I think I'm getting old)- I don't- no, I DO know why it sneaked up on me. Eminem got loads of press when his album dropped, I lost gas for his pill popping tip so I guess I kinda closed that dance.

PEACE.

PS.- Been reading lots of comics (just finished the first bootlegged volume of Sin City), may be I'll drop something on y'all's heads some time.

The Blueprint 3

I feel lik the joker right now- Lunatic emotions. Back in the loop i am- and I hit the ground running (yes!)

I DO like this D.O.A (Death Of Autotune) movement- pretty dope. What do i like about it? It feels like the 90's again- HipHop's going back to the raw gritty, grimy, sample-heavy days (in which I was but a toothless toddler)- it's so dope, though- and who better to do it than Jay-Z (take a moment- think about that): he's seasoned but still relevant. So even if he's going against the hipster sub-genre (skinny jeans, high tops & nerdy overtones [Kanye, The Cool Kids, Kid Cudi, Lupe etc.], it's cool that he can take a stand.

So with all that said, The Blueprint 3 is on it's way, album cover and tracklists are out, interviews are in full gear and buzz is abuzz- the rest should fall in line and I should hope for a copy this Christmas.

The King

Yeah, I hate to sound cliche, but... wow...
I don't remember how my bowl of Coco Pops went down this morning, cuz it was at the table that I saw on CNN that the king had died... wow. You can almost say I was devastated, cuz Michael Jackson was just Michael Jackson- the S.I unit of musical genius and entertainment prowess- Michael Jackson was a fucking beast.

So please understand my sentiments when I hear people seem vaguely concerned... vaguely. On Sanyu Breakfast this morning, Melanie said his death would have hit harder if he'd died like 15 years ago- imagine that. Yes, if I were the Terminator or some sh*, maybe that would hold water, but come ooooon! Aljazeera didn't say a thing about it until about three hours later (and even then it was only a five minute spot), a reason for which Aljazeera has lost some of my props and so much more...

Yes, this is me bitching, cuz I don't get how people can overlook the giganormous contribution the man has made to pop culture. Michael Jackson is the man that changed the landscape of dance (sh* is still imitated today), has released the highest grossing and best selling album to date and f*cking flipped the way music videos and live performances are done toay! How can you ignore that... Oh My Ducklings!

So yeah, I was sad, but now I'm frustrated, I need to vent- most of all because the media and the people of the world don't remember Michael Jackson, the King Of Pop- they have chosen to dwell on Wacko Jacko, the aging, high pitched, possibly deranged pedophile with social issues and the most obviously nipped nose in history. I won't lie, I liked him better when he was black (I have nothing against white people and confused people)- but a dead man ought to be remembered for his greatest virtues- his being his immense musical genius. I think it is quite hopeless and quite typical of the BIG BAD WORLD to remember his faults and judge him relelntlessly, choosing to forget the immense influence he had on generations spanning close to 30 years.

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, that is the price of genius. Being head and shoulders above the rest of the populace, they will often look up at you, alone on your peak and not understand you. The simpletons will often look up to you, respecting and acknowledging the wonders you conjure that affect their lives in a way so unique and so unparalleled, but at the end of the day expect you to act as they do and when you don't- they ridicule you. Rarely will you find another individual with whom you can be at par, one who will understand you and you can understand in turn- yes, the top is a lonely place.

So... um, yeah, this is where I say goodbye to Mr. Jackson- one of the greatest geniuses of our time and um yeah, I know all the above is rather cliche- it seemed like the right thing to do.
PEACE.

I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Yes, it's been a while, exams and what not- give me a minute, though, might need it to find my rhythm,- I'm also thinking...

Yeah, I'm thinking about a new look for my blog, should be good, but that would probably have to go with a new header thingy, which I can only do with Macromedia Fireworks, which I don't have anymore because my PC recently got formatted, and Fireworks isn't in production anymore- ask most graphics designers about it, they might not have ever heard about it- I know, a whole lot of excuses straight off the bat, huh?
If you,ve been to Kanye's blog, you'll recognise what I was tryin' witthe heading. The few times that he posts sh* himself, everything is written as one big ass heading: some call it artistic uniqueness, some may see it as ignorance, others may see it as an effective way to highlight something important, and others will see it as plain ignorance.Yes.

Be By Myself

Mr. Roth! Yeah. Asleep in the Bread Aisle is gonna be one of those albums everybody looks back on twenty years from now and hails as a classic... wonder how we'll see Crank That then.... like Can't Touch This, perhaps?
Back to the topic of this post: Asher Roth.
Second video off the album. It's the best I have seen in a while. Can't have been too expensive, but they really did good with the CGI and the colors and the contrasting white and the fact that the entire video revolves aroeund seeing the subjects within the frame of the model's bodyhaving fluids drip off the tips. Very ceative stuff. Mob camera tricks (yes, pun intended)
Forgot to mention Cee-Lo. Complements it perfectly.

Tiny Dancer

Wow... I don't like DJ Ironik much- he's too wack a rapper- but hey, he doesn't introduce himself as a rapper, so I'll bury the hate. He classifies himself as a DJ- and dang, he puts together a mean track! After Stay With Me he teams up with Chipmunk and Elton John for this here banger. Curious.
The feelings it evokes are curious. If Tony Soprano ever fell for one of the girls from the Bada Bing, I think this would make for a great soundtrack. It's so... wow... Chipmunk added a great amount of lyrical feasibility to this here, I don't think I would have liked it without him on it. He's coming out with a new vid in a bit. Watch.
Mr. John helps it cross over as well, been a while, actually.  The chorus is actually a sample of some oooooooooooooooold song of his from like the early 70's (i think), reason for that whole laidbackness. Props.

Chocolate Rain

Oh Sh*t. Ths is crazy. Dude named Tay Zonday's got this crazy track called "Chocolate Rain", and this next video feature is him performing it live on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. Probably the weirdest performance I've seen in a while, but I think it's still pretty cool.
Now, if you thought that was just his onstage voice, check the interview after the performance: "This is CNN". lol.
Wow, I'm loling quite abit these days, kinda weird.
Yeah, I don't know about the chick on the side though... I think she's supposed to complete a nigga's optical diet- those legs- what what...

PEACE.

Bonkers

Return of The Rascal- yes, it is Dizzee Rascal, and yes- it is Bonkers. I guess it's off his new album and niggas are hailing it as the dopeness in the comments section, with such Chanelle-like comments as "MASSSIVVEE CHOOOOOOOOOOONN!",  I swear. lol.
It isn't grimey, though, that is rather disappointing. Feels like he's coming down to the level of the Soulja Boy Tell 'em's of this world that just want to create a danceable track and forget about substance.
I don't even know what to say about the video, though I do like the bits where it's slowed down and there's like a house party going down- otherwisely, I think this nigga is going to be had on like a collossal scale for this 'cuz he's like come from this whole ghetto- gangster demographic, where niggas just don't want to lose props, so this video is just- I don't know man, throw me some comments.
It's a nice track, though, just not as down right grimey as your usual Dizzee Rascal material.
It's just bonkers.

Twitter

Sh*T, F*ck Twitter! I swear, if I get on twitter, I'll blame it on peer pressure (I can imagine some bu O.C wobble-heads go: "OMG, Miley Cirus is on twitter!"*Scream like they just saw Tupac*"OMG!, I've sooooo got to twitter that". Sorry, I think I got my WWW grammar wrong: The verb is to tweet .
One guy said, of this video,:
"Yes... follow people on Twitter. Follow celebs on Twitter. You can be the ultimate stalker, stalk you favorite celeb or the girl you have had a crush on since highschool. Be the best stalker you can be and follow your target today!"
Haha, my font's sort of messed up now. But yeah, I also wouldn't join Twitter, cuz I'd forget the password in under 5 MINUTES! Yeah. Just realised I say yeah at the weirdest times.
Yeah.

King of the Bumpkins? WTF?

Y'all probably didn't get that 'cause I hadn't posted it.
Ladies and Gentlemen: Lark on my go-kart, Asher Roth's first single off upcoming debut album Asleep in the bread aisle.

Asher Roth vs. Eminem?

Eminem is one of those people that really should never hold a gun or be president, he's so flippantly, relentlessly reckless. Dude could have anyone (I guess after he was done dissing his mom, there was no holds barred)- check this. He wanted to have Amy Winehouse to do a song with him on the new album, but she said she couldn't (she was like somewhere between two rehabs) so what does the good Mr. Mathers do? I don't even have to say it.
So yeah, this kid Asher Roth comes out of  American Suburbia and becomes a pretty big deal, what with the simmilarity to Eminem and mad quirk. So if life went according to script, Eminem would be doing the equivalent of Ja Ruling Ash Roth. Nope.
In June's issue of XXL, which he covers, the real Slim Shady (is it just me or was that a little cheesy?) goes and packs Mr. "I Love College" in an unexpected turn of events.
Here's the "King of the Bumpkins"' response.
Sorry kids, no beefing here.
